Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Give your brain and body more of what they need to recover; LIGHT ENERGY!
Also known as cold laser therapy or non-thermal, high-energy laser therapy, our class 2 lasers use specific light wavelengths to stimulate cellular processes and energy production (ATP).
High energy photons of light from the lasers are absorbed by mitochondria, the energy-producing organelles inside every cell, triggering a cascade of healing responses to:
Reduce brain and body inflammation
Increase blood flow and oxygen delivery
Enhance neurogenesis and neuroplasticity
Repair and protect the blood-brain and gut barriers
Stimulate antioxidant systems (including glutathione)
Reduce stress hormones
Protect against free radical and DNA/RNA damage
Stabilise cell membranes and reduces excitotoxicity
Support healthy aging by protecting telomeres
Laser Therapy can be applied to a wide range of conditions, addressing both acute and chronic issues including neurological conditions, musculoskeletal pain, traumatic brain injuries, inflammation, skin issues, and overall wellness amongst the many.
Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Therapy
What are the different colours for?
The different laser lights/ wavelengths (red, violet, green) have differing therapeutic benefits as each colour targets specific complexes/proteins within the electron transport chain (ETC). The combination of the 3 laser colours together completes all 4 complexes before ATP synthase, giving the best opportunity for healing and benefits of laser therapy
Why Erchonia? https://www.erchonia.com/
Erchonia was established in 1996 and obtained its first FDA clearance in 2002, for treating pain. Erchonia now holds 22+ FDA clearances establishing its evidence base and setting it apart from cheaper, unproven devices that lack clinical evidence.
Low-level laser therapy as a field is backed by over 12,000 peer-reviewed studies published on PubMed.gov, the world's most respected biomedical research database.
Is laser therapy safe?
Our Erchonia low-level lasers are non-thermal, FDA-cleared and have clinical research to back their efficacy. They are safe for use on the brain and body.
Unlike high-powered or surgical lasers, LLLT is gentle, safe, and clinically proven to support the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
How long does a laser therapy session take?
Laser Therapy applications typically last only minutes per treatment area. The exact timing for a session depends on the dosage and target tissue area
Does laser therapy hurt?
No. Low-Level Laser Therapy is completely painless—most patients feel no sensation during treatment
How soon will I notice results after getting laser therapy?
Some patients feel benefits immediately or within a few sessions, while others experience gradual improvements over several weeks depending on their condition and goals.
What is the difference between Red Light Therapy and laser therapy?
Red light therapy uses LEDs. Lasers are different in that laser light is monochromatic, coherent and collimated, meaning the photons have a greater affiliation for absorption. These light photons are of high enough energy to create a biochemical reaction. The amount of energy per photon depends on the colour of the light - red being at the lower end and violet being at the higher end.
LEDs do have healing properties but if the power is turned up, heat is created and the effect becomes biothermal, rather that biochemical.
For perspective. In Erchonia’s class 1, randomised double controlled studies for the FDA, Erchonia used LEDs as the sham treatment. Improvements were found in both but the lasers were in a different league producing statistically significant improvements which continued after cessation of treatment.
